🌟 Weekly News – A Week Full of Achievement, Effort and Positivity 🌟

It has been another busy week across school, filled with lots of learning, celebration, and reflection. As with any week, there have been some challenges along the way, but pupils and staff have continued to support one another and work together to move forward positively.

Across subjects, there has been so much to celebrate. In Food Technology, pupils enjoyed getting hands-on making stuffed crust pizzas and pasta, working collaboratively and producing some delicious results. PSHE lessons focused on important real-life topics, including the impact of smoking on the body and what makes a healthy diet, with pupils engaging thoughtfully and maturely in discussions.

Academically, pupils have worked incredibly hard. In Maths, there has been great progress with money problems, converting units of measurement, and even pupils stepping up as peer mentors to support others. English lessons have been full of creativity and focus, with pupils planning their own Greek myths and preparing carefully for upcoming exams. In History and Geography, pupils explored sustainability, designed their own cities, and created informative posters, while Art lessons were full of imagination, from detailed drawings to the early stages of 3D African masks.

Alongside the successes, we recognise that there have been some challenging moments this week. Staff and pupils have worked hard to manage these situations, showing resilience, patience, and care for one another. These experiences have provided valuable opportunities to reflect, learn, and think about how we can make school an even safer and calmer place for everyone.

A big focus this week has been attendance, and it has been fantastic to see a noticeable improvement. We are incredibly proud of the pupils who achieved 100% attendance, and we have also encouraged pupils to look closely at their own attendance and identify where they can make small improvements. Those close to 90% have been challenged to push for that extra day in school β€” every day really does make a difference.

We ended the week on a real high with a lovely afternoon tea, giving pupils a chance to relax, chat, and celebrate their achievements together. It was a calm and positive way to finish a week that, while challenging at times, was full of effort, growth, and progress.

Well done to all pupils and staff for their hard work, resilience, and positivity this week. Let’s take the lessons learned and the successes achieved into next week and keep moving forward together. πŸ’›πŸ‘
