Assemblies
Welcome to our school’s assembly programme!
Assemblies are an important part of life at The Observatory School, providing opportunities for pupils to come together as a community, celebrate achievements, share important messages, and explore key themes that support their personal development.
Throughout the year, our assemblies are carefully planned around the school’s core values and the SMSC (Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural) calendar. Each term focuses on a specific school value, helping pupils develop important life skills and positive character traits. Alongside this, our SMSC assemblies explore a range of national events, cultural celebrations, British Values, and awareness days, encouraging pupils to develop respect, understanding, and appreciation of the diverse world around them.
Assemblies take place regularly throughout the week and are delivered by a variety of staff members, providing pupils with different perspectives and experiences. Weekly celebration assemblies give us the opportunity to recognise individual and group achievements, reward positive behaviour, and celebrate success across the school.
Our assembly programme helps to foster a strong sense of belonging, encourages collaboration, promotes reflection, and supports pupils in becoming safe, ready, respectful, and responsible members of our school community.
