Vyner Pupils Explore Future Careers at New Brighton Jobs Fair

Year 11 pupils from the Vyner site recently had an exciting opportunity to begin thinking about their futures when they attended a Jobs and Careers Fair at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton.

The event brought together a wide range of employers, training providers and organisations, giving young people the chance to learn more about different career paths and the opportunities available to them after school. Pupils spoke with representatives from a variety of industries and discovered options including apprenticeships, further education, work experience and entry-level roles.

The fair was organised to help young people aged 16–25 explore employment and training opportunities, with organisations such as the British Army, HMRC, Merseyside Police, Wirral Met College and construction companiesall offering advice and information about their sectors.

During the visit, pupils had the chance to ask questions, find out what different jobs involve and learn about the skills employers look for. For many, it was a valuable opportunity to start thinking about their next steps and the pathways that might interest them in the future.

One of the highlights of the event was learning about how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can support job searches. Special sessions showed young people how AI tools can help with things like planning career goals, creating a CV and preparing for interviews, helping pupils understand how technology is shaping the world of work.

The pupils represented the school brilliantly throughout the visit, showing curiosity, confidence and maturity when speaking with employers.

Experiences like this are an important part of helping pupils prepare for adulthood, giving them the chance to explore different industries, ask questions and begin thinking about the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.
