At The Observatory School, we love celebrating the hard work, achievements, and fantastic efforts of our pupils. Each week, both our Leasowe and Vyner sites come together for a special celebration assembly, hosted on Zoom. Teachers and support staff contribute to a Padlet throughout the week, sharing highlights from their classes, and the assemblies are led by Mrs. O’Connor at Leasowe and Mrs. McGlynn at Vyner.

This week’s highlights showcased some truly outstanding work across all subjects!

Vyner Highlights:

???? Faith has been working exceptionally hard in maths, mastering the order of operations while consistently presenting her work beautifully.
???? JJ and James demonstrated their analytical skills as they explored the character of Macbeth in English.
???? Jack, Freddy, Oliver, and Carter tackled real-world issues in geography, exploring possible solutions for derelict land.
???? Lilly impressed in English, learning how quotations are used in newspaper articles. She even wrote her own, documenting the star status of Bubbles the cat!
???? A special thank you to Fin, who brought in a fascinating historical document – a will from 1877, detailing an estate worth the equivalent of £2 million today! A brilliant glimpse into local history.
???? Congratulations to our 100% attenders and to our Star of the Week, Kieran B, for his incredible contribution to the STEM team!

Leasowe Highlights:

???? Fletcher class showed fantastic teamwork as they worked together to build Lego cars as part of a team-building activity.
???? John, Nick, Logan, Alfie, Maddox, Scarlett, Lizzy, and Lacey demonstrated impressive computing skills, using multiple sources to research facts about Chester Zoo.
???? Alfie, John, Nick, Liam, and Lacey produced superb English work, designing and creating their own zoo leaflets.
???? In Green Group, Miss Rahman’s phonics superstar is TJ! He has worked incredibly hard, revising previous sounds and showing a brilliant attitude to learning. Well done, TJ!
???? Students in Wilson class wowed us with their confident PowerPoint presentations in English. A huge well done to Kody, Harvey, Blake, Josh, Rosie, and Triston for standing up and presenting their work so well.

A huge well done to all pupils for their dedication and enthusiasm. We look forward to celebrating more successes next week! Keep up the fantastic work! ????????
