Vyner Campus Weekly News – Celebrating Success Across the School
It was a good week at the Vyner Campus, with pupils across all classes demonstrating creativity and a brilliant attitude to learning. Our Wall of Fame has been packed with achievements, and we are proud to share some of the highlights.
In Food Technology, Jamal impressed everyone with his cooking skills, producing what were described as the “neatest cinnamon rolls of the week” – a great effort! Meanwhile, Joe and Olly earned Chefs of the Week for their delicious sausage rolls, which both looked and tasted fantastic.
Over in History, pupils in Sinfield have been exploring the rise and fall of the British Empire. Excellent work was produced by Scarlett, Isla, Billy and Logan, showcasing both effort and understanding.
There has also been excitement around upcoming opportunities, including tickets to watch Tranmere Rovers.
In PSHE, pupils in Harrison engaged brilliantly in discussions about living a healthy lifestyle, including personal hygiene and making positive choices. Their maturity and participation were excellent. Harrison class also celebrated Ethan, now nicknamed “Mr Madden,” for his confidence and skill in teaching others how to use protractors in Maths – a great example of peer support and leadership.
Speaking of Maths, pupils across the school have been working hard on measuring angles. Well done to Bonnie, LJ, Kieran, Harvey and Sonny for their excellent work.
In Science, there has been some exciting hands-on learning. Pupils took part in dissection work, with Sonny, Ethan, Kieran and Bonnie all impressing. Special recognition also goes to Amy and Carter for volunteering in their ASDAN science session. Elsewhere, pupils developed their microscope skills, learning how to focus and observe accurately – a key scientific skill.
Creativity has shone through in Art, with Sinfield pupils producing fantastic African masks using a range of techniques. Meanwhile, Spencer class created imaginative Venus fly trap sculptures inspired by Little Shop of Horrors – their creativity has been outstanding.
In English, pupils in Spencer have been developing their own characters, showing fantastic imagination and enthusiasm. Rashford class have also been working hard, planning their versions of Romeo and Juliet, producing some excellent written work.
Reading continues to be a strength, with Spencer pupils enjoying Goosebumps: Ghost in the Mirror and showing great engagement.
There have also been fantastic achievements in PE and enrichment. Pupils took part in basketball, gymnastics and even a trip to Awesome Walls, where they showed determination and resilience climbing to impressive heights. Lizzy deserves a special mention for her commitment in gymnastics, along with Lawrenah for stepping out of her comfort zone.
Our attendance champions also deserve recognition, with a number of pupils achieving 100% attendance last week – a fantastic achievement that reflects commitment and positivity towards school.
Finally, congratulations to all of our Athletes of the Week and those achieving gold on the class boards. Your hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed.
Overall, it has been a brilliant week at Vyner. The effort, enthusiasm and support pupils show for one another continues to make the campus a positive and inspiring place to learn. Keep up the fantastic work everyone!
