This week’s celebration assemblies at both Vyner and Leasowe were packed with positivity, pride, and even a little bit of space exploration!

Over at Vyner, Mr. Dickson and Mrs. Marsland kicked things off in spectacular fashion by sending a selfie to the SATGUS satellite, which launched into orbit this week with the help of none other than Mark Rober and SpaceX. A truly stellar moment!

A big congratulations goes to Sophia, who has shown incredible dedication to her revision and exams. Her determination and focus have really paid off—well done, Sophia!

Meanwhile, in Science, Freddy, Sam and Jamal were recognised for achieving a credit in their ASDAN course. Their hard work and commitment to learning has really shone through.

Excitement is also building as the class continues to rehearse for their performance of Othello. There’s been some fine acting on display, with Bonnie, Ethan, Kieran and LJ taking centre stage. If they keep performing at this level, they might just be bard from the Wall of Fame!

In Rashford and Bolt, pupils have been exploring the inner workings of computer systems. They were amazed to learn that the phones in their pockets share many of the same components as the Mars Perseverance Rover. Who knew the tech in our everyday lives could be so out of this world?

A special mention goes to Ollie, who has had an absolutely brilliant week. He’s hit his personal targets every single day and shown consistent effort across all his lessons. We’re so proud of his progress—no surprise that he was awarded Star of the Week!

At Leasowe, Walliams class enjoyed another action-packed session with Commando Joe’s, where teamwork was the name of the game. The pupils showed great resilience and support for one another throughout the challenge.

In Maths, Nick, Leighton, Maddox, Logan, Alfie, John and Liam impressed their teachers with some brilliant work on line graphs. Their understanding and effort were fantastic to see.

Well done to Jack, too, who has worked incredibly hard in Maths all week. Your focus and positive attitude have really stood out!

In Phonics, a big ‘ou!’ shout-out goes to Logan and Paul for their outstanding reading this week. Your confidence and fluency are really coming along—keep it up!

The week also saw some thoughtful discussions in Relationships sessions, with Scarlett, Triston, Harvey, Kody and Lacey reflecting maturely on the differences between positive and negative relationships. Their honesty and insight were truly impressive.

During My Happy Mind, pupils explored the benefits of engagement and how it supports their learning. Jake, Sid, Reece, Connor M, Harrison and Connor C all shared how being more engaged in class has helped them stay focused and succeed. It was brilliant to hear their reflections.

And finally, don’t forget—the Summer Fair is fast approaching! This year we’ve got some amazing prizes up for grabs, including a two-night overnight stay in the Lake District. Raffle tickets will be on sale in the run-up to the fair, so make sure you don’t miss out!
