Sensory Shack: Supporting Our Pupils at Vyner
At The Observatory School, we are always looking for ways to support our pupils’ sensory and emotional regulation needs, and our weekly visits to Sensory Shack have been a fantastic resource for pupils at Vyner Campus.
Sensory Shack is a specially designed space that provides a safe and engaging environment for pupils who benefit from sensory input. The sessions help pupils to relax, explore, and regulate their emotions through a range of activities tailored to their needs.
During their visits, pupils enjoy:
???? The ball pool – perfect for deep pressure and sensory exploration.
???? Tunnels and climbing equipment – great for movement and coordination.
???? Drums and sound activities – encouraging rhythm and self-expression.
???? Interactive lights and projections – creating a calming atmosphere.
???? Cuddles with guinea pigs – providing comfort and emotional connection.
These sessions have had a hugely positive impact, helping pupils feel more settled, improving focus in lessons, and providing a space where they can regulate their emotions in a way that works for them.
A huge thank you to Sensory Shack for providing such a wonderful experience every week!
